About Stuart Ward Solicitor

I qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and since that time have specialised in all aspects of litigation. I believe it was my first career in the police service which developed my passion for this area of law.

Early in my career I acted on a probate case concerning a claim by a daughter following the death of her estranged father when no provision had been made for her in his will. I successfully achieved a significant payment for the client which some years on I learned had assisted her in reaching her own goals and ambitions.

It was involvement with this case that attracted me to probate work. Many years on I continue to enjoy the challenges presented in this area of work and recently completed the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialist (ACTAPS) diploma for the purpose of promoting excellence in this field of work.

Try to find a solicitor with expertise in Non Domestic Rates and you will struggle. Typically my instructions come from Chartered Surveyors throughout England & Wales and hence my client base is spread far and wide. I advise and act for household names and regularly appear in Local Valuation Tribunals the Lands Tribunal and Magistrates Courts on all issues concerning rating law.

Prior to setting up in practice I was a partner in a large provincial law firm and head of Commercial Litigation and Debt Collection. Leaving to set up on my own was as much a work focus decision as it was a life style choice.

I started my own business in January 2007 offering; flexible, professional legal advice, backed by extensive experience at competitive rates. Initially I worked part-time as a consultant with a credit card company advising and assisting in the development of systems relating to the collection of debts, at the same time building up my practice.

My client base has grown through recommendation and word of mouth.

When you ring my practice you speak to me, you are not passed from person to person. I am responsible for the quality of service you receive and that is why I am prepared to go that ‘extra mile’.
